Understanding Miner States

Foreman has implemented four miner states tied to miners. Miners will retain historical data regardless of what miner state they are in. For example, if the status is set to 'Disabled'. However, deleting a miner will remove the miner from your fleet entirely and it will remove the historical data for that miner.

Listed below are the Miner State descriptions and how they function when using Foreman:

Miner State Miner Status  Default Display on Miner Page Shows on Site Map
Deployed
Miner is deployed as part of the fleet and is actively hashing or attempting to hash. Appears as active on sitemap.
Active Yes - The miner will show up in the default miner count on the miners page.  Yes

In Repair -
Miner is removed from the deployment and is not actively hashing. The miner is auto-disabled. Will be re-deployed once the repair is complete. Appears as disabled on sitemap

Disabled Yes - The miner will show up in the default miner count on the miners page.  Yes - While in repair the miner is disabled but retains its sitemap location

Retired -
Miner is removed from the fleet, is not deployed and is not actively hashing. The miner is removed from the miner count and is auto-disabled. Removed from the rack - no longer appears on sitemap.

Disabled No - You will need to filter by miner state "Retired" to display the retired miner(s) on the miners page. No - If retired miner is re-enabled it will need to be added back into site map

In Storage -
Miner is removed from the fleet, is not deployed and is not actively hashing. The miner is removed from the miner count and is auto-disabled. Appears as disabled on sitemap.

Disabled No - You will need to filter by miner state "In Storage" to display the in storage miner(s) on the miners page. Yes - While in storage the miner is disabled but retains its sitemap location
