As your mining operation evolves, there may come a time where you'd like to move a Pickaxe from one client down to a more localized client level. The most common example would be moving a Pickaxe from the top-level account, down to a newly created Site Client.
One important detail to keep in mind before we get started - the process of moving Pickaxes from one client to another should always be done by installing a brand-new Pickaxe at the desired client level as opposed to changing the Client ID in the configuration file of an existing Pickaxe installation. No miner data is stored with the Pickaxe, so you're free to swap out Pickaxes at will without interruption to your data records.
Download the latest version of the Foreman Windows Agent
To get started, navigate into the client level you'd like the new Pickaxe to appear on, and then download the latest release of the Foreman Windows Agent here.
Next, open and replace the contents of conf/foreman.txt with your apiKey and clientID. To prevent errors, copying and pasting the apiKey and clientID from the installation page is recommended. The information on this page will update to reflect the Client ID of the Client that you're current in, so double check this is the Client that you want the new Pickaxe on.
Run service-start within the bin folder once you've saved the .txt file with your API Key and Client ID.
If all the steps have been completed correctly, a new Pickaxe will be visible on the Pickaxe tab of the desired Client.
Assign miners to the new Pickaxe
From the Miners table on your top-level account, select the miners to be assigned to the new Pickaxe with a Bulk Edit, and then select the new Pickaxe as the destination. Toggle the slider to acknowledge the changes, and then click Save to execute the change.
Deleting an unwanted Pickaxe
Once your new Pickaxe is online at the Client level, you can remove the old Pickaxe from your top-level Dashboard. First, execute the service-stop command for the empty Pickaxe you wish to delete. Then, head to the Pickaxe tab and locate the gear icon in the top right corner of the tile representing the Pickaxe you want to remove. Click on the gear icon and select the option to delete the Pickaxe. Keep in mind that the "Delete" option will only become available if the Pickaxe has 0 miners assigned to it, and the Pickaxe is offline.
