How To: Install and Manage LuxOS with Foreman

You can now install and manage LuxOS firmware directly through Foreman. This allows you to streamline firmware management across your fleet while keeping all miner actions in one place!

Compatible Miners

Foreman supports LuxOS installation on a wide range of miners. For the full compatibility list, please see:
 LuxOS Compatible Miners.

Installing LuxOS with Foreman

You can install LuxOS in Foreman either on a single miner or across multiple miners at once.

  1. Go to the Miners page in Foreman

  2. Click Bulk Edit Miners to open the checkbox menu and select the miner(s) you would like to update, then click Edit (#) to open the Bulk Miner modal.

  3. Choose Firmware Upgrade from the dropdown.

  4. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Tip: Using Bulk Edit is the fastest way to upgrade many miners at once.

Note: If you want to update a single Miner, click into the Actions menu, then Settings to update a single device.

Configuring LuxOS Settings in Foreman

Once LuxOS is installed, you can manage key firmware settings directly in Foreman. These can be updated via Bulk Edit or through individual miner actions, as shown above.

In addition to the standard settings available for stock miners, users uniquely configure LuxOS settings:

  • ATM – Configure Advanced Thermal Management settings, including enable/disable, max profile, etc..

  • Cooling Mode - Configure whether the miner is cooled via air or immersion.

  • Uninstall Custom Firmware - Uninstalls LuxOS and reverts to stock firmware.

  • Underclocking and Overclocking - Users can underclock and overclock their LuxOS machines using the following approaches.

    • Frequency / Voltage

    • Power Target (in Watts)

  • Hashrate Target

  • Profile Name and Steps - Currently only supported via ATM settings (see above)

Note: LuxOS does not currently offer native support for Frequency/Voltage, Power Target, and Hashrate Target. Based on the value provided by the end user, Foreman will select the LuxOS profile closest to the desired target (rounding down) for each machine.

For more detailed information on each setting, refer to Luxor’s official documentation:

LuxOS Events in Foreman

Once LuxOS is installed, you can view and filter down the Miners table to specific events sent from LuxOS. To create the filter, click the Global Filter icon and then search for Error Code and type the specific code you want to filter by. Then navigate to the Miners page to see any corresponding miners receiving this event from LuxOS.

For more detailed information on each event, refer to Luxor’s event documentation:
