If your site participates in seasonal curtailment or time-of-use programs, you know how repetitive it can be to create the same dispatches week after week manually. Foreman now supports recurring dispatches for Full Site, Subset of Miners, and Set Point dispatch types, allowing you to configure a schedule once and let Foreman handle the rest automatically.
This guide walks you through everything you need to know to set up recurring dispatches.
What Are Recurring Dispatches?
Recurring dispatches allow you to define a curtailment schedule that repeats automatically on the days and times you specify. Instead of creating a week's worth of individual dispatches every week for months on end, you set it up once with a start date, recurrence days, and curtail/resume times, and Foreman takes it from there.
This feature is available for:
- Full Site dispatches
- Subset of Miners dispatches
- Set Point dispatches
Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following information on hand before setting up a recurring dispatch:
- The curtailment at the time (when the dispatch should begin)
- The resume at the time (when the dispatch should end)
- Your time zone
- The days of the week on which the dispatch should recur
Step-by-Step: Creating a Recurring Dispatch
Step 1: Start a New Dispatch
Navigate to Power > Command Center > Add Event > Add Dispatch. Select your dispatch type (Full Site, Subset of Miners, or Set Point) and configure your miner targets or set point values as required.
Step 2: Enable Recurrence
Set the schedule setting to Recurring to expand the recurrence settings panel.
Step 3: Set Your Details
- Select the days of the week on which this dispatch should recur. You can select one day or multiple days. For example, if your program requires curtailment every weekday, select Monday through Friday.
- Enter the time you want the curtailment to begin (Curtail At) and the time you want operations to resume (Resume At).
- Important: Curtail At and Resume At times cannot be the same. If your Resume At time is earlier in the day than your Curtail At time, Foreman will assume the dispatch carries over into the next calendar day. For example, a curtailment starting at 10:00 PM and resuming at 6:00 AM will run overnight.
- Choose the time zone that applies to your site's curtailment schedule. Foreman will default to your account's configured time zone, but you can change this if needed. Getting this right is important — all curtail and resume times will be interpreted in the time zone you select here.
Step 4: Review and Save
Review all your settings:
| Setting | What to Check |
|---|---|
| Dispatch type | Full Site / Subset of Miners / Set Point |
| Curtail At time | Correct time in the right time zone |
| Resume At time | Different from Curtail At; correct for overnight if applicable |
| Time zone | Matches your site location |
| Recurrence days | All required days selected |
Once everything looks good, save your recurring dispatch.
Managing Recurring Dispatches
Viewing Scheduled Recurring Dispatches
Once saved, your recurring dispatch will appear in your dispatches list. You can identify recurring dispatches by their recurrence indicator. Foreman tracks the schedule's last run and next run times so you always know when the next dispatch is expected to fire.
Editing a Recurring Dispatch
To change any part of your schedule, such as adjusting times, adding or removing recurrence days, or updating the end date, locate the recurring dispatch and open it for editing. Changes will apply to future occurrences; dispatches already sent will not be affected.
Stopping a Recurring Dispatch Early
If your curtailment program ends sooner than expected, you can:
- Pause the recurring dispatch for use at a later time without having to redo the work or
- Delete the recurring dispatch entirely
Common Questions
- What happens if a scheduled dispatch time falls on a day I haven't selected?
Nothing, Foreman will only trigger dispatches on the days of the week you've specified.
- Can I set a recurring dispatch to run overnight?
Yes. If your Resume At time is earlier than your Curtail At time (for example, curtail at 9:00 PM, resume at 5:00 AM), Foreman will automatically treat it as an overnight dispatch carrying over into the next day.
- Can I have multiple recurring dispatches running at the same time?
Refer to your program's requirements and your site's operational guidelines. If you have questions about overlapping dispatches, contact your OBM support representative.
If you run into any issues setting up recurring dispatches or have questions about how a specific program's requirements map to these settings, reach out to your OBM support team for assistance.
