Looker description: Locational Marginal Pricing for many zones in the world with granularity up to 5 minutes

Locational marginal prices (LMPs) for power markets Foreman tracks, keyed by ISO, market, and zone, at 5 minute granularity where the market publishes it. This is the price signal curtailment logic compares against strike prices. It stands alone with no miner data, so it is quick to query.

Grain One row per ISO, market, and zone per 5 or 15 minutes
Time field Timestamp Date (5 minute, 15 minute, hourly, or daily)
Best for
  • Power price charts for a zone
  • Average and peak prices per hour or day
  • Comparing real-time and day-ahead markets

Example questions

  • What was the average real-time price in our zone each hour yesterday?
  • How many 5 minute intervals were above $100/MWh last month?
  • How does day-ahead compare with real-time for the same day?

LMPs

Locational marginal prices: the wholesale price of power at a specific place on the grid, published by each ISO for its markets and zones. Foreman stores them at the finest granularity the market publishes (5 minutes for most real-time markets, hourly for day-ahead). This is the price signal that strike price curtailment compares against.
