When managing and relocating miners to new client sites, it's essential to follow a structured process to ensure a smooth transition. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for disabling the miner at its current location, linking it with the appropriate assets, and enabling it at the new site. By carefully following these steps, you can ensure that the miner is properly accounted for and operational in its new environment. Whether you're a seasoned professional or new to this process, this guide will help you navigate each stage with clarity and confidence.
- Navigate to the dashboard, then click Miners from the left-hand navigation menu.
- Find the miner that you would like to move to a new client site and click the Actions drop-down that is associated with that miner.
- Choose Disable from the drop-down menu, then click Confirm.
- From the Miners page, click the Bulk Edit Miners button at the top to open the column where you can choose one, many, or all miners to edit. Select the check box on the miner(s) you are moving and click Edit (#) to open the options menu.
- Click into the drop-down and select Client from the list.
- Select Move Miners to Client drop-down, then choose the Client that the miner is moving to, and finalize by clicking Apply.
Note: The Client is associated with the Pickaxe located at the new client site.
- Navigate to the left side navigation and click on Assets.
- Scroll down to the Assets table and click the Bulk Edit button to open the column where you can choose one, many, or all assets to edit.
- Select the check box on the asset(s) you are moving and click Edit (#) to open the options menu.
- Click into the drop-down field and select Client, then choose the specific Location where you want the Asset to be moved (the Client that corresponds with the new client site location of the miner that is being moved), finalize by clicking Apply.
Now that your miner is moved to a new location, turn on the miner at the new location and confirm that it is connected to the LAN. To do this, you'll perform a resync in Pickaxe so the miner is detected at the new location.
Note: Depending on how you link the miners with assets, make sure the miner has the correct serial number that was used at the prior location or the correct asset tag that was used at the prior location before it was moved.
The miner should now be enabled and in deployed state at the new client site, and the asset should now be linked with the miner that was moved to the new client site.
